Iowa 513 and 507 round the bend in Homestead, IA with CBBI 23. Kind of a bland shot but it had been so long since I was out here, I didn't remember much. Now I know for next time! By: Chris Lastovich

Again, knowing the roads out this way would of helped, but here we are as IAIS 513 brings its manifest into Iowa City yard passed the restored depot and train orders signal. Quite the fitting landmark for such a paint scheme. By: Chris Lastovich

Working the yard, IAIS 513 makes a quick set out of grain for CR before continuing east. They would also swap out the lone 507 for 505, 711, and 154. By: Chris Lastovich

After setting out the grain and 507, and picking up the additional motive power, 513 takes headroom passed the town's railfan view platform dedicated to the first railroad to make it this far west from the big city in 1856. By: Chris Lastovich

Storming up Midway Hill, Iowa 513 is in charge of CBBI with a warrant to Rock Island. It was nice to hear GP38-2 711 in use for extra HP up the grade. By: Chris Lastovich
Doing every bit of track speed, Iowa 513 cruises through West Liberty and passed the restored depot and photo line. It was nice seeing all the usual familiar faces out and about. My favorite part of the chase was next as we speed out of town following Andy's vintage station wagon. Haha, it was nice to see such a older car get up and go! By: Chris Lastovich
Continuing east, the train crosses the Cedar River in the small town of Moscow. Its going to take me awhile to get used to this 40 mph running, the next roll-by wasn't until Davenport! By: Chris Lastovich
Coming in hot, Iowa 513 and CBBI take to the streets of Davenport. By: Chris Lastovich
Entering Illinois, IAIS 513 prepares to make set outs, a pick up, and drop unit 711 in Rock Island yard before tying it down at Carbon Cliff. By: Chris Lastovich

Shoving into the yard to make a setout, Iowa 513 passes the safety signage found at every Iowa yard across the system. By: Chris Lastovich
Maybe not the most exciting shot, but CBBI gets forwarded to Carbon Cliff by its Newton based crew as they pass through East Moline, IL. With 10 mph running, it was hard to pass up an easy chase... By: Chris Lastovich
Taking the IAIS option at BNSF's 77th St. Industrial Line... IAIS 513 continues its trek toward Carbon Cliff, and eventually Chicagoland. By: Chris Lastovich
Sliding past NRE's Silvis Shops and Iowa's "new" Silvis Yard, it was only fitting to shoot a Rock Island painted unit in an area that used to be so important in the railroad's existance. By: Chris Lastovich
Tied down at Carbon Cliff, the new Rock Island crew's call time is 17:30, so a small break in the action was had. By: Chris Lastovich
Its all Rock here, IAIS 513 stares down the original style G signal gaurding BNSF's Colona crossing. By: Chris Lastovich
Running thrugh CSX's Ottawa Yard Limits, Iowa 513 east passes the original RI depot now used by the CSX as a MoW hub. There must of been a dozen fans out here to document the passing of CBBI. This isn't exactly how I wanted this shot to turn out but it does justice I suppose. By: Chris Lastovich
Finally a decent shot to be proud of, a little pace/pan action of 513 as it strolls through Ottawa. By: Chris Lastovich
Another decent attempt IMO, Iowa 513 bounces down CSX's poorly maintained jointed rail New Rock Sub through the small town of Marseilles, of course passing the beautifully restored depot, with CBBI 23. By: Chris Lastovich
Kind of like an oil painting, Iowa 513 heads her east through Morris. CBBI met IAIS 707 west with BICB at Seneca. By: Chris Lastovich
One of those shots you had to get, Iowa 513 passes Joliet Union Station for the first time with CBBI 23. Another fitting location for this particular unit, so many units before it carrying the same livery have passed here. By: Chris Lastovich
Finally, we decided on one more roll-by at 1:30 in the morning as CBBI comes cruising through New Lenox on Metra's Joliet Sub. After a 22 hr chase across Iowa and Illinois, we decided on this being our last attempt. Till next time. By: Chris Lastovich
