A nice 5 unit consist grumbles under me with a 123 car detour from Barstow. The train jumped on the BN via a special connector at Colona after a BNSF derailement, and took the Barstow Sub to Galesburg, and the old ATSFTranscon, or the Chili Sub, into Chicago, where it hopped on the IHB at McCook for the trip down to Riverdale Yard, aka, Blue Island. The entire train was bound for the IHB, so it ran with a BNSF crew, straight to Riverdale as a BNSF train. By: Chris Lastovich

The five EMD's duck under one of the new;y modified signal bridges on the line, thankfully when they scrapped the cantilever that once stood here, they kept all the searchlights! By: Chris Lastovich

Iowa 151 takes the train around the wye at McCook and is now on the Harbor, heading geographically south, railroad east. This shot is not at all easy to take, as I am standing on I-55. Completely worth it. By: Chris Lastovich

A BNSF crew has the detour trai in tow as they glide through IHB C.P. 71st St. This is where yard leads from the BRC's Clearing yard and CSX's IM ramp join into the Harbor. By: Chris Lastovich

Another view of 151 as the engineer takes a couple notches under the large modern cantilever signal bridge. The train was so long that it just cleared McCook Inter. now. By: Chris Lastovich

Just south of IHB C.P. Chicago Ridge where the old N&W, now Metra Southwest Service, crosses the IHB, BNSF F BAIMCI trundles along at a measely 15 mph... By: Chris Lastovich

In a rare view at BI Jct., the IAIS power is actually on the right end of the train as BNSF detour move F BAIMCI heads down the Harbor in awesome morning light. By: Chris Lastovich

A CSX geometry test car passes the detour train right on the diamonds. The CSXT owns part of the Harbor and does a bit of the maintenance. By: Chris Lastovich

Heading toward Riverdale, this was just a grab shot. The train is within yard limits and the Harbor has stored cars on one of its mains. By: Chris Lastovich

With an IHB BH11 yard crew yarding the train, Iowa 151 sneaks out the east end of Riverdale Yard, definately not somewhere Iowa power is supposed to be. By: Chris Lastovich

Another view of the Iowa detour taking headroom out of the east yard at Riverdale. In the background, a Harbor yard job works and a CSXT auto train waits from the Harbor crew to get ut of the way. By: Chris Lastovich

The train was so long, it needed headroom under the CN/IC main and Metra Electric tracks into Dolton, IL. IHB M.P. 11 as can be seen... I believe this is the furthest east Iowa power has ever been! By: Chris Lastovich

Another view as the detour move shoves back into Riverdale yard on another track. By: Chris Lastovich
