My HO scale 400 started out as a Proto 2000 PRR GP7 I stripped. I filed away the side skirt to match the prototype and chopped out the front battery box on either side. I filled in the gaping holes with steps I just made from stock tread and added styrene pieces where the front battery boxes used to be. 400 prototypically has a GP20 cab and short hood, which I picked up from fellow modeler Joe Atkinson. It was not a hard fit at all and once the model was glued together, I added all the basic details: Kato air hoses, and various details west and details associates parts. I also made the fire cracker antenna stand out of styrene. I fairly basic straight forward model, the only thing missing at this time were doors. But I am now in the middle of decaling and detail painting the nearly completed unit.
