"Before" view of UP's Pool Yard from last week's update. Seeing this photo made me realize that I needed to do something about that window.

"After" view with new backdrop in place. Prototype photos of the Omaha skyline (far wall) and UP's South Yard yard (on the left) will be added once Spring arrives and there are green trees to shoot again.

Overall view showing the crew desk with the new backdrop above. I may still add a trim piece along the bottom of the backdrop to better frame things here.

Google image from http://goo.gl/maps/uV4Tt showing the joint IAIS/CBGR main (E-W) crossing the UP's 12th St. line (N-S), with the abandoned cement plant site just to the right. The plant was still standing in my era, as seen in the photo to the right. The connection in the lower right quadrant of the crossing allows trains from the north and east to arrive and depart from UP's Pool Yard.

This is 16th St., just east of Pool Yard, and the paved area on the left will be the abandoned cement plant seen in the Google view to the left. To the left of that is the future site of Indian Creek, which in this area is a man-made channel, crossed by both the IAIS and UP's 12th St. Line on the far left.

A view of the abandoned cement plant as it appeared in my era, taken from the SE quadrant of the IAIS/UP crossing, looking west. The Walthers ready mix plant is close enough to this structure that I decided to kitbash that rather than scratchbuild.
