I finished off all the room amenities by installing a floor over the concrete, added curtains to cover the storage shelves, and simulated a neon sign of the IAIS herald that will be attached above the Milan runaround. By: Scott Thornton

I decided to design and fabricate a neon IAIS logo for the layout room. I drew the logo up and had the black base CNC’d out of plexi, added reflective yellow type, and had a local custom neon artist create the red accent line out of neon. I also decided to place the sign above one of my work spaces rather than on the layout valance. By: Scott Thornton

I wanted a couple 30 inch stools for operators to sit on to relax during operating sessions. I bought red metal stools that looked weathered, had the IAIS logo embroidered on black leather and an upholsterer made the two cushioned seats. By: Scott Thornton

Last but not least, I added the IAIS logo and stripe around a general room light in the layout room. Between the stools, neon sign, and room light, I think I have enough IAIS graphics. Any more and it may be overkill! :) By: Scott Thornton
