Notes:
- Like all ten PRSL GP38s, IAIS 600 was built with dual control stands so it could be easily run in either direction. By 2006, only the standard right-side control stand remained. It kept the odd extended front windows, however.
- 600 came to IAIS in North Louisiana & Gulf paint, but was eventually repainted in Phase III paint at National Railway Equipment sometime between 1988 and 1990. However, the stripe was applied four inches lower than every other unit.
- 600 was one of three IAIS units to wear Operation Lifesaver logos, the others being IAIS 603 and IAIS 485. 603's were mounted high on the long hood, just ahead of the radiators, whereas 600 had them centered over the yellow/red stripe at the rear and 485 had it centered on black below the radiators.
