Notes:

• 601 was delivered to IAIS in Phase III paint.
• Around May 2005, IAIS 601 was retrofitted with a 4 stack exhaust, electric cab heat, and a new cab floor.
• After extensive work at the Bluffs shop in early 2006 that started with the need for significant metal work on the long hood, the unit was repainted into Phase IV. It emerged from the shop on 23 May 2006.
• 601 was sent to Relco in Albia, IA, for rewriting to mate with slug IAIS 650 on 17 Mar 2007, and was returned to IAIS on 17 Jun 2007, mated to 650.
• 601 is the last non-Dash 2 unit on the IAIS roster.
